Regency Style Marble & Giltwood Table, Late 19th Century

Marble table in gilded wood composed of a large marble top in a rich mauve with white veining. Sits atop a sinuous skirt carved with rocaille and delicate flowers and four curved legs each decorated with a fall of flowers and acanthus leaves. Some chipping on the gilding. Centered on a large bouquet, a spacer in the shape of an X links the whole.
Refined and elegantly worked, this middle table attracts the eyes by its large size, its beautiful patina and its marble.
